Privacy policy

Bounty Escapes is operated by BountyDesk Africa, Nairobi, Kenya. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

• Guests: name, email, phone, travel dates, group size, occasion and any details you choose to share in an enquiry.
• Property partners: name, contact details, property information, ownership or management documentation, licensing and tax identifiers, and payment instructions.
• Automatically: IP address and basic request data, used for security and rate limiting.

Why we use it

• To handle your enquiry and arrange a booking.
• To verify properties and the right to let them.
• To send booking updates and, for partners, commission invoices.
• To prevent fraud and misuse.
• To meet legal and tax obligations.

Consent

We ask for your explicit consent before collecting personal data through our forms, and we record when that consent was given. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

What we share

To arrange a stay we share the details necessary for the booking with the relevant property. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share guest contact details with a property before a booking is progressing, nor property owner contact details with guests.

Sensitive documents

Ownership documents, licences and identity documents supplied by property partners are stored privately, are never published, and are accessible only to authorised staff for verification.

Retention

• Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 24 months.
• Completed bookings and commission records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
• Verification documents: for as long as the property is listed, plus 7 years.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or that we stop processing it. Email stays@bountydeskafrica.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Previous platform

Bounty Escapes replaced an earlier BountyDesk Africa service. Data from that platform was not migrated here; it was archived and removed separately.
